Time

I found myself in a conversation with a very interesting person the other day and I must say that a statement made by this individual raised a big question in my mind. This statement is actually a statement frequently uttered by people, but to me it is somewhat contradicting. The statement says: Time is of the essence! I trust by now you made the discovery that I am an analytical thinker and love to break concepts apart and put them back together. So if you are excited about picking this statement to the bone. Let's go in for the kill.

According to https://allidioms.com/time-is-of-the-essence/ the phrase/ idiom means that time is a crucial and defining factor. There is definitely validity in this statement if you consider it in the following way: It might be the wiser option to use the time that you have on doing what you need to. As the man-made concept of time is limited to only 24 hours a day, of which you spent about 6 - 8 hours sleeping. Now I raise my own argument here: Why do you consider things a need to do, when you have the mind power to change the need to do into love to do? Are you not wasting time on hoping things get better when you have the ability to make it better by just changing your mind about it? Yes, I am coercing you to change your negative eye to a positive eye. When you can do this you will not feel the need to utter the phrase time is of the essence again. I know you are thinking why not? Well, it is simple! Time won't be like a shadow looming over you, because you won't care how much time has passed if you do what you love to do. Allow me to give an example: If you need to clean the house, change your mind so that you love to clean the house. See it in this way; on a physical level you have the apparatus equipped on your body to do so, well thing are clean and tidy we tend to be more relaxed, by doing it you show that you care not only about yourself but also about the other occupants in the house and you get some exercise which keeps body, mind and spirit healthy.

How can we with certainty predict that time is of the essence if the only thing we know for sure is that we have only NOW? Come on be realistic, you don't have certainty of now-now or tomorrow or even 10 years from now. You will not be roaming earth for the rest of your life! So why is time then so crucial or defining if life is a natural cycle. You see time can paint a lucid picture of who you want to be. But you see time need to progress for that distant future picture to be created and I deem that such a waste of time that we are not even sure of. How often do you tell yourself that you are going to be/ do better tomorrow and in reality tomorrow may be a void, because of its unreliability! What am I getting at, you ask? You don't have to learn to control time as you are not a character in Harry Potter, you only need to change your mind and see reality for what it is. Start living in each moment as it is presented to you, but be determined to perceive each moment in a way that bring peace to your mind/ soul/ heart.

A wise old owl once inspired me to see that time is not about quantity but about quality. What would you be doing/ thinking if this was you last moment?
